Lesbian Lunar Insights for February

February begins amidst eclipse season.  So, as I begin, I have to mention again the total lunar eclipse on the last day of January, said by some not to have occurred with a Blue Moon, not to mention Super, for 150 years, aiding our dormant seeds of creative potential to ripen and be ready for development. The planetary action in February is more overt, as it contains no retrograde planets.

February is the month of Aquarius, an air sign, and considered by many to be the most intelligent, though not always in the traditional sense, as Aquarius energy is anything but traditional. Remember, it’s just one of the signs, and we possess them all, in varying degrees. Aquarius is the inventor, thinking ‘totally’ outside the box. However, though they usually have progressive ideas, being a fixed sign, Aquarians can also be stubborn and lack flexibility, unless they are also influenced by some of the adaptable signs: Pisces, Virgo, Gemini, and Sagittarius.

Aquarians can be detached, and are sometimes accused by the partners and mates of loving ‘everyone’ as much as them. Aquarius is the most magnetic of the signs, and it rules groups and organizations that we affiliate with, though I wouldn’t call Aquarians ‘joiners,’ and they require some time alone, as they pride themselves on being independent. Aquarius is ruled by Uranus, the revolutionary, which electrifyingly energizes the Universe.

The sign opposite of Aquarius is Leo, burning with enthusiasm, and a need to be the center of attention. Proud, creative, dignified, determined, dramatic, and generous, as well as egotistical, snobbish, intolerant, patronizing, and dogmatic. They are playful, love children and having fun. Also, a fixed sign, they can be jealous. But when they feel secure they can be tremendous sources of love and encouragement for others.

February 1st the Moon in conservative Virgo squares impulsive Mars in adventurous Sagittarius, encouraging some after work play. Then a lunar trine to responsible Saturn in the evening keeps us making good choices.

On the next evening, Friday, the 2nd, the Moon aspects Jupiter, offering opportunities to over-do. Just sayin’. Saturday, the 3rd the Moon moves into social Libra for the next couple of days. And the Libra planetary ruler Venus squares Jupiter compelling fun, and possibly being too generous or over-doing, exaggeration, or being judgmental.

The highlights of the second week start on Monday, when the Moon in Libra opposes Uranus in Aries. That could be a day when all your best laid plans go asunder, as they say. So, it will help to prepare to be flexible. The Moon moves into Scorpio that evening, which usually intensifies energy. Tuesday, the 6th, Venus makes an opportunity aspect to unpredictable Uranus, so you may get a nice surprise or invitation.

The Last quarter phase begins Wednesday morning, which is often a time when we question our direction, decisions, or choices. And this feeling may go on till Sunday morning. However, the Moon moves into Sagittarius Thursday morning, which should lighten up the energy for the next couple of days.

On Saturday, the 10th, Venus moves into compassionate Pisces until March 7th, emphasizing the artistic and creative side to Venus. And the Sun squares Jupiter. We could overextend ourselves trying to turn every acquaintance into a bosom buddy, or some other over doing. The Moon moves into Capricorn to bring us back down to earth. This, and next Saturday may have many romantic celebrations. Possibly some good gifts, expensive and unusual with the Sun Square Jupiter aspect in effect.

On Sunday, the 11th, the Capricorn Moon moves into the Balsamic, or completion phase before the New Moon in Aquarius and partial solar Eclipse on Thursday. But before that on Tuesday, the 13th, Mercury in rebel Aquarius squares Jupiter in Scorpio. Too much might be said. So, think before you blurt. Though later the Sun makes an opportunity sextile to the Aquarius planetary ruler, Uranus encouraging us to allow spontaneous expression and stay open to new ideas. And talk about an oxymoron, Ash Wednesday falls on Valentine’s Day, one of the biggest chocolate days of the year.

Back to the New Moon in Aquarius on Thursday, the 15th.  As a partial solar eclipse this Aquarius New Moon presents a potent opportunity to transform our thinking and renew our visionary powers. We can gain clarity about where we want to go and what blocks us from getting there. This eclipse requires us to let go of something, to make space for the new. The transformational potential is emphasized, especially in how we connect and communicate. If we’re holding ourselves, or our partners to an unattainable ideal of perfection, our ideas and ideals about relationship are ready for an upgrade. Is our attachment to being right blocking our flow of love?

Friday, the 16th marks the Chinese New Year, and the year of the Earth Dog. This next year favors new business ventures and major lifestyle changes, and rewards loyalty, generosity, and selflessness.

Saturday, the 17th, Mercury moves into Pisces till March 6th, enhancing our intuition and psychic abilities. On Sunday, the 18th, the Sun moves into Pisces, starting the Pisces time, the theme of next months Startalk.

Wednesday, the 21st brings a romantic and/or idealistic morning. Venus crosses spiritual Neptune. The Moon is in affectionate Taurus and makes opportunity sextiles to both Venus and Neptune during the morning. A sextile between Mercury in Pisces and Saturn in Capricorn may bring us back to reality, however, through duties, responsibilities and communication.

The Moon in Gemini squares the Sun in Pisces on Friday, the 23rd, activating the First Quarter Phase where many changes and alterations are made for the next four days. Sunday, the 25th, may start with dreams that could be informational and inspirational, as Mercury crosses Neptune in the early am. The energy then is focused on home and family, projects and chores, with the Moon in Cancer and the Sun in adaptable Pisces sextile responsible Saturn in Capricorn.

The last two days of the month may be a time when some relationships become closer and more committed, as we open our hearts to trust, as Venus, planet of love and connection in dreamy Pisces, sextiles intense Pluto in long-term Capricorn. On Wednesday the energy continues in communication with Mercury in Pisces also sextile Pluto. These two days also trigger a continuation of events occurring around January 31st at the lunar eclipse.

If anyone has tried to contact me on Facebook, and got no response, it may be because there are two old pages I tried to delete, from the very early days when I didn’t use Facebook and forgot that I even had them. It might be more effective to call me, leave your name, so I can friend you when I see your name.

I wish you all a happy and productive February.

Until next month, “be kind to each other,” as Ellen says.
